On May 17th, the 1st Research Workshop of Sino-German Center for Research Promotion Mobility Programme (No. M-0172: Multiscale Tests, Simulation, Optimization and 3D Printing of UHPFRC Materials and Structures) jointly funded by NSFC and DGF was held at Wuhan, China in a online-offline combined way. The workshop was co-chaired by Prof. Zhenjun Yang from the School of Civil Engineering of Wuhan University and Prof. Gunther Meschke, the Vice Rector for Research and Transfer of Ruhr University Bochum and a Member of the Academia Europaea. Six experts were invited to give research seminars on topics including multiscale experiments, damage and fracture simulations, and 3D printing of UHPFRC materials and structures. More than 30 researchers from the two universities attended the workshop and had fruitful discussions. Finally, the principal investigators of the project, Prof. Yang and Prof. Meschke, summarized the outcomes and discussed further collaboration and mutual visit plans.
