Curriculum Description:

Composites Mechanics

Composites Mechanics is a specialized course to foster students to analyze the mechanics behaviors of composite materials in engineering by using the method of composites mechanics. The contents of this course include but not limited to these: introduction to composites and their applications and development in engineering, the basic equations of anisotropic elastic mechanics, the elastic properties of single-layer plates and the strength theory (macroscopic mechanics), the basic strength prediction of the elastic constants of laminates (microscopic mechanics), the elastic properties of composite laminates, flexible composite laminates, the damp heat effect of composite materials, the coupling effect on the stiffness of the composite laminates, and the mechanics experiments of the composites.
