The Brief Introduction

The laboratories, with a total area over 8,000 square meters, include the Wind Tunnel Lab and the Complex Media Multi-Scale Mechanics Center etc., and they are equipped with various experimental instruments and facilities, such as the most advanced equipment of testing the mechanical behaviors of micro-nano materials, reacting-force wall, large triaxial, dynamic triaxial, true triaxial, vibrating table, quasi-static (dynamic) experimental equipment, fatigue testing machine, etc. Number of teaching and research achievements have been made in recent years which include the second prize of national teaching achievement award and the first prize of Hubei outstanding teaching achievement award. Apart from that, we have built Concrete Structure and Masonry Structure Course into an national fine resources sharing course, established the provincial fine resources sharing course of Soil Mechanics, Concrete Structure and Masonry Structure, and the provincial quality course of Theoretical Mechanics; published 68 textbooks, including 6 national "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" teaching materials and 1 national “Twelfth Five-Year Plan" teaching textbook; established the Hubei provincial demonstration practice base jointly owned by Wuhan University and China Railway Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd, which has been awarded by People's Government of Hubei Province and; built Hubei provincial internship training base co-owned by Wuhan University and China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd.; undertaken more than 10 state-level key projects such as “973" and "863" as well as over 90 vertical projects involving in the practical engineering applications; won 33 province-ministry-level scientific awards including 3 national scientific and technological progress 2nd prize, a total of 7 province- ministry-level outstanding and 1st awards.
